July 4, 2007Scamper is taking a little break this summer while we work on our tans. Actually, that's a lie. Mirabella made us take the whole summer off so that he can properly plan his birthday party. No, that's a lie too. As it turns out, Brendo has a bunian. (That's the inflammation of the synovial bursa of the great toe, not the legendary woodsman with a blue ox.) Anyway, stay tuned. Meantime go leave us glittery comments on Myspace.
May 21, 2007Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston isn't exactly known for being particularly hip -- or accommodating -- to the local music scene. But when Sean Flynn got his hands on the upstairs room at Hennessy's, he quickly established it as one of the finest venues in town. He's been referring to our show this Thursday as possibly the best bill his club has seen yet; and the Boston Herald is keen to agree, having dubbed it the Show of the Week. The Sterns, Aloud, and the Organ Beats -- that's the sexy Noelle from Damone, for those of you not in the know -- open the night, and we headline with our not-quite-annual moustaches ablaze. Because, you know, this show needed some creepiness.
March 17, 2007Some Evacuation Day tweaks here at the Scampernet: our not-particularly-beloved Messageboard is dead and buried, but The Scene has been reborn with all new interactive functionality.
And be sure to take a look at the shows page, if you haven't already; some mighty sweet stuff approaches in the spring.
February 21, 2007
After an extended holiday hiatus, Scamper returns to the local club scene this week to kick off The Luxury's two-night CD Release at TT the Bear's Place in Cambridge MA. Both Friday and Saturday are packed to the gills with the creme de la creme of Boston rock 2007, so we urge you to come early and stay for 28 hours. Or you can go home in between the two shows; that's your call. And more shows are slowly filling up Scamper's spring calendar, so your lust for power pop can finally be consummated.
Behind the scenes, we've been putting together a couple of new tunes in the studio, which are nearing completion, pushing the envelope, and raising the bar. When these songs will be released to the unsuspecting public has yet to be determined; keep a keen eye on this site and you'll be the first to know.
