It's time to argue about movies. I had my film nerd meeting this weekend and, while there was no clear cut "Best Picture" winner, the following movies received high praise:

Before Sunset
Code 46
Sideways
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
A Very Long Engagement
Stage Beauty
Spider-Man 2

Some other notes:

- Everyone hated The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou except for me.

- Best Actress was pretty split between Julie Delpy from Before Sunset and Jennifer Garner from 13 Going On 30, both of whom I would like to f.

- Million Dollar Baby might be the worst movie in the history of cinema.

- The best actor in Blade: Trinity was NOT in fact Wesley Snipes as Blade, but Parker Posey as Danica Talos. Controversy!

- Everyone liked Anchorman, but no one lurrrved it as much as I did.

Argue away, kittens.

My argument is that you're annoying and you smell like a butt and you like to lick your own butt.

A Mighty Wind gets funnier on repeated viewings, and I thought it wouldn't. Go figure.

Um... Keith - A MIGHTY WIND wasn't released in 2004. Let's stay on topic.

Yeah well I SAW it in 2004, fooeyhead. I don't get to see new movies anymore. I only saw "Spider-Man 2" from your list. I thought it was... better than Spider-Man 1. But worse than Super-Man 2.

I re-watched SPIDER-MAN 2 this weekend and I can safely say it's my 3rd favorite superhero movie ever, after BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS.

my comments are as follows:

1) Joe is often annoying, and often does smell like a butt. But i have never seen him lick his own butt.

2) Film nerds are also annoying. But then, so aren't we all?

3) 13 GOING ON 30 was really really really good. Seriously. I'm not even kidding. And it's not just because I heart Mark Ruffalo with a blazing hot passion. And, while we are off the topic, so did the halftime show with Britney and Aerosmith and Justin and Mary J. Blige a few years back. Don't be dissing on my girl.

4) I also saw SPIDERMAN 2 this weekend (it was Brendo's and my quality time together) and really enjoyed it. Brendo and I both really liked the wet boobs scene. It's nice that we could bond over shared interests.

I don't lick my own butt, although I probably would if I could. But only after a good scrubbing down there.

Anyway, Brendo is an annoying film nerd elitist and I hope he is maimed in a tractor and/or machete accident.

13 going on 30 was actually good and Jennifer Garner is a talented lady who I would date if I didn't know that her beauty would destroy me.

Yeah, I'm such an elitist. Look at all the art house, elitist movies I liked this year: ANCHORMAN, SPIDER-MAN 2, HARRY POTTER. I think that one was based on an Ibsen play.

Butt-licker.

Brendo, elaborate on why Million Dollar Baby was the worst movie in the history of cinema. I have not seen this movie, but everyone that has really seems to like it. I would imagine it’s pretty terrible. Looks very mellow dramatic and over acted.

To be honest I’ll probably never see the movie, but I tend to stay away from dramatic movies that everyone says are amazing. Kind of turns me off to a movie after people have gushed about it.

Sorry, meant to say looks melodramatic.

I liked Life Aquatic too B.

I usually disguise myself at all Scamper shows so as not to attract too much attention from my fans. Sigh. It's so *hard* to be loved so much...

I'm Joe's girlfriend/fiancee.

I'm surprised to hear Brendo isn't a fan of MDB, because I know his favorite movies are extremely popular dramas where the protagonist is single-minded and unfailing (like Shawshank).
