Week two of the Abbey residency was, in the words of the Verizon weather dude, "stellar hellar" -- not in small part due to the Valentine candies and cupcakes that your loving Scamper boys provided. But let us not forget the killer rock by which Scamper was surrounded! Catapult had the crowd shouting "Shanghai!" (and singing merrily along to their cover of Concrete Blonde's "Joey"), Baby Strange filled the place with fog and rock while Eric snaked his way through the crowd, and longtime brothers in rock Fooled by April closed the night mightily and impressively. Get your hands on their EP and -- heck with putting it in your cd player -- put it under a blacklight, man! Magic will happen. Scamper, meanwhile, was a mad rock tornado. So Marc's bass went blooey. So what? Much love to the fans, especially those who have now seen the band three times in seven days. You are all Scamper's collective valentines. |
