A Ford Windstar, some icy treats from Dunkies, and Def Leppard on the radio... so began Scamper's first rock and roll foray into the jungles of NYC. Onstage technical difficulties didn't diminish the rock that the boys poured forth, and an extra dash of excitement was sprinkled atop the rockfest by having the mystery subject of "Lucy, Don't Worry Now" in the audience. A new tune, which made its debut at TT's in May, settled comfortably into the set. For now it's cryptically called "P.E.M." We're taking suggestions.

Zanzibar Scuf opened the night with a fun Ben Folds Five-esque piano rock; Jill Stevenson did the sweet acoustic rock; Automatic Bad Machine filled the room for their debut show, featuring more stage presence than the Moscow Circus; and the Eliza Letters filled the air with melodic prog-rock.

Scamper and the Eliza Letters then proceeded to drink until sunrise, dodging raindrops as they stumbled around Times Square. Somehow (no one really remembers) the Scamper boys made it back to Queens at 6am. Onward to Day Two...
