Free food and free beer. It's hard to tell just what all those grad students showed up for, but it simply must have been for the acoustic rock. Our friend Rosie Huntress was the first act, and she was dead-on fantastic. Twenty minutes into her set, the line to get into the BBQ area was halfway across campus, making Rosie a cornbread pied piper of sorts. Or something.

Nate and Keith played the second leg, running through a few Scamper tunes and mostly older unpublished stuff. In Keith's basement are at least 750 acoustic CDs from the time when Nate and he were an official acoustic duo. They should have brought more to the show, because all 50 that they did bring were snatched up (for FREE, natch) like so much BBQ chicken. There's something nice about playing out in the sun like that. Oh right, it's little green bugs crawling on your microphone.
