live show summary

Date: March 21, 2003 (Friday)
Venue: Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA
Also performing: Fooled By April, Baby Strange, Army Of Me

Scamper's first foray into the underground world of the Lizard Lounge was a hi-fi garage rock fan's wet dream. Baby Strange opened the show with a solid set and a steadfast crowd of admirers. Swooping in from DC via Brooklyn were Army of Me, who showed everyone just how smashing the rock is in the capital city. Vince and the gang put on an ass-kicking, foot stomping good time for the uninitiated, and it went over brilliantly.

Fooled By April is going places. Actually they just returned from a well-received performace at the illustrious South by Southwest music festival in Austin, TX. There must be magic in the air down there, because FxA popped off yet another scintillating set, further cementing themselves as Boston's best pop band. As Scamper took the stage it was announced that the Lizard Lounge had sold out - now that's a lot of rock and roll fans. A set filled with standards and the burgeoning hits of '03 ensued, though it must be noted that the low ceiling prevented maximum altitude during airborne activities in "Longshot." Hopefully this lineup can get together again, as it's a fine way to usher in March Madness, or any kind of madness you might be ushering.
